About Me
I am an enthusiastic and resilient individual who is passionate about education and enjoys helping the community. Having recently gone through the system myself, my teaching style is up to date and based on what works well with students.
I’m currently going into my third year as a student at UCL, studying Natural Sciences Msci. I specialise in neuroscience and my minor is history of science. So I get to study science subjects but also do a bit of humanities and write essays.
I started tutoring when I volunteered to teach year 11 students maths in my first year of sixth form. I took the children from their class, and we went through the lesson at our own pace. I am constantly refining and improving my technique to deliver the best lessons for students
My hobbies include reading mystery novels (recently I’ve been into reading Agatha Christie’s books), crocheting and knitting. I’m a very crafty person and I love making new things.
Achievements
My greatest achievement is winning a bronze award in the British Biology Olympiad! I competed in this competition with minimal preparation as I was going against thousands of year 13 students (I was in year 12). It was a hard test but nonetheless quite fun.
Fun Fact
A fun fact about me is that I was born in the Netherlands, and my first language was Dutch. But then I moved to the UK when I was 6 and somehow forgot the whole language! I cannot speak a single word in Dutch anymore and I hope to relearn it one day.
